Do I need to say a wake word?
No. Incant listens ambiently - anyone at the table can mention a spell, monster, or rule and the right card appears. No "Hey Incant", no commands, no pauses.

Does it work offline?
Archivist runs fully offline - the entire 2014 and 2024 SRDs live on your device. Oracle's voice transcription also runs on-device through Apple Speech, so cards still summon without a network connection.

Is my audio recorded or sent to a server?
Never. All audio is processed locally on your device. We do not transmit, store, or record your voice, and we do not use a third party for analytics.

Which edition of 5e is supported?
Both the 2014 and 2024 System Reference Documents - every spell, monster, item, and rule released under the Open Game License and Creative Commons. Toggle between rulesets in the app, or layer in extra Content Packs from publishers like Kobold Press. Incant is not affiliated with Wizards of the Coast.

Does one subscription cover all my devices?
Yes. Any tier - Archivist or Oracle - works across iPhone, iPad, and Mac on the same Apple ID.

Do I have to be the DM to use it?
Not at all. Incant listens to everyone at the table, so it's just as useful for players refreshing a spell as for DMs running combat.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
All subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID settings. Open the Settings app → tap your name → Subscriptions → Incant. You can view, change, or cancel Archivist or Oracle there at any time. Oracle starts with a one-week free trial and bills only after it ends.

How do I restore a purchase on a new device?
Use the "Restore Purchases" button on the subscription screen inside the app to sync your active license across devices.

What happens when my 30 free voice minutes are up?
The Archivist tier - offline search over the full SRD - stays yours to use freely. To keep live listening going, upgrade to Oracle at any time.
